I agree with Dave if you're not the SUV type. Subies are very nice accomodations for canines (=

subaru makes a great product.
We're actually getting a Subaru Impreza WRX STi wagon for this very reason! Two adults, two Boxers, some gear, then add a Corso and that's some weight. The WRX has enough power to get up hills (Tahoe and Reno in our neck of the woods) but is still good for gas mileage. I never thought I'd own anything other than a sports car and even though this is a total "mommy car" to me, this one still has the get up & go to beat a Corvette off the line!

Good luck with your search!

I actually brought a Ford Expedition and it worked out great. One thing is that with dogs you can expect your car to get dirty every once and a while and the Eddie Bauer package is set up to me as an outdoor vehicle. Meaning that even a little dirty it maintains its looks. Also the leather is not as fine as say the Escalade or Suburban or even Navigator. The last thing I looked at was the space and with the power folding seats in the Expedition I did not have to worry about pulling out the back seat like I did in the GM cars. So in review Eddie Bauer package is rougher and the space works so for me the Expedition Eddie Bauer package works the best.

that's exactly what i have! do a little bit of work to them and they really move!

i can get 3 bikes on the roof, my Gf, luggage for a week and a 150 lb pooch in there.

now i just need the pooch!

mommy car? nahhhhh. if it was a regular legacy wagon, then it'd be a mommy car.

The legacy GT wagons are super nice too.. and pretty quick!

We have an Expedition and it works really well with 2 dogs and 3 kids. We have an 05 so the back seat is motorized and folds down flat. I can put two seats down in the 3rd row and still have one of my kids sit in the back with both dogs. As far as getting the dogs in when they were young I taught them to put their front feet on the bumper and I would lift their rears up into the back.. Once they were old enough they just jump in and out like it's nothing. It does come down to personal preference but we have no complaints and it's not as pricey as some other SUV's
